Biography
Mr. T.K.P. Ram (Thirunagari Krishnaswamy Pattabhiram) was born in 1925. His birthday was always celebrated on July 9. His father’s name was Krishnaswamy and his mother’s name was Damayanthamma. He was born in Secunderabad, A.P. India. He was second of 10 children and was the eldest son. He studied in Islamiah High School in Nizam Hyderabad A.P. India. His parents were poor and wanted him to take a job in the Railways after his high School. Ram was very eager to pursue his studies further. He loved reading books. After spending the whole day doing odd jobs to help his parents, he would sit by the street lamps at night and read books. One day he saw an advt. in a Newspaper that was providing Scholarships for Textile Engineers. Ram applied for the Scholarship went for the interview and was selected. He studied at VJTI, Bombay, India where he completed his degree in Textiles. He later obtained marketing and management degrees.
He worked in several Textile Mills in different cities and states of India (Warangal in A.P., Kanpur in U.P., Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Bombay in Maharastra). At the peak of his career he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Textiles Corporation, India. He published several Technical papers in Textile Journals, submitted articles to magazines such as Mother India and is the author of several Textile books that are used as Text Books in Colleges.
He was married on 24th May 1950 to Kalyani Surapuram. He was a spiritual man and was a great devotee of Shiridi Sai Baba. He has written several spiritual books. He had a stroke at the age of 77 and recovered. He was later diagnosed with Colon Cancer. He left his mortal body on June 10 2006. He is survived by his wife and three children and their families.
